How to move multiple bills in a cash flow forecast

Use multi-select timing changes when a group of bills, forecasts, or expected payments needs to move together.

Move multiple bills when payment timing changes

Move several bills or forecast items together when the same cash timing decision affects them all.

  • Use multi-select when several transactions need the same timing update.
  • Move expected dates to reflect the cash plan, not just the accounting due date.
  • Check the selected total, then review the cash balance after the move.

When moving multiple bills helps

Moving multiple items is useful when the same decision affects several transactions.

The goal is not to hide cash pressure. It is to make the forecast reflect the real timing plan quickly enough that it stays useful.

  • Several supplier bills will be paid next week instead of this week.
  • A set of forecast costs needs to move out of a tight cash window.
  • A group of imported items has the right amount but the wrong expected date.
  • A client confirms a group of payments will happen on a different day.

Select transactions with the same timing decision

Only select transactions that should move for the same reason.

If one bill has a fixed payment date and another is flexible, they should not be treated as the same decision. Multi-select changes are fastest when the selection is clean.

Check the cash balance after the move

After moving the items, check the new cash position.

Look at the selected total, the new low point, and whether another week has become tight. A bulk move should make the cash plan clearer, not just shift the problem out of sight.
